Scope

University of Waterloo's Asbestos Control Program encompasses all work with asbestos containing material (≥ 0.5% asbestos) under uWaterloo control including buildings, equipment and grounds.

This program incorporates the requirements of Ontario Regulation 278/05 Designated Substance - Asbestos on Construction Projects and in Buildings and Repair Operations. The program is reviewed by the uWaterloo Joint Health and Safety Committee.

Purpose

This program outlines procedures and controls to ensure safe working conditions when working with or near asbestos at uWaterloo.
