    • Permits

    The control of bio-hazardous materials at the University of Waterloo is maintained by a Permit system.

    Bio-Safety Permits are issued by the UW Bio-Safety Committee to all principal investigators/instructors handling:

    1. Risk Group 2 organisms and material

    2. Risk Group 1 organisms and material in quantities greater than 10 Litres

    3. Human blood and body fluids
