Area Supervisors – In addition to ongoing inspections of their work area(s), regularly scheduled inspections ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements
Department Health and Safety Co-ordinators/Committees – Under uWaterloo’s Health, Safety and Environment Management System they are responsible to their management for assisting with and/or conducting inspections of their area.
Inspection frequency should be related to the hazard level in the area according to the following guide:
Higher Hazard (Inspect once per term)
Medium Hazard (Inspect twice a Year)
Lower Hazard (Inspect once a Year)
Departmental inspection records shall be available for review by Joint Health and Safety Committee members and Safety Office.
