Emergency Eye/Face Wash and Safety Shower Stations

One eye wash station should be in every wet laboratory and placed in an easily accessible location. Eye wash stations must meet ANSI Z358.1-1998 Standard and be installed by Plant Operations. Installation can be arranged by issuing a work order to Plant Operations. This will insure that the eye wash station is correctly installed, signed and maintained. Laboratory Hazard Poster

The "Laboratory Hazard Poster" is an intiative to provide emergency responders with some indication of the hazards with in your laboratory space.

Fire Blankets

Fire blankets are not normally required. It is generally better for a person to drop and roll. The Safety Office should be contacted regarding the installation of a fire blanket.
